Survey: South West UK is home to more people who snore, 61% are male, as revealed by their partners
A survey of 2,500 UK adults in a long-term relationship reveals that their partners regularly snore, 46% of them are in South West, UK. Over half (61%) stated the culprit was male (just 39% were female).
It’s also found that those with a snoring partner lose an average of two hours of sleep per night. This averages to only five hours of sleep per night which is far from ideal. The survey also reveals that those with a snoring partner are woken up at least twice a night because of their partners’ snoring.

- Practice good sleep hygiene regularly.
- A hot shower before sleeping opens nasal passages that can prevent snoring
- Use hypoallergenic cotton bedlinens. Allergens like dust can lead to allergic reactions that cause snoring.
- Avoid alcohol. Alcohol affects the muscles at the back of the throat which can aggravate snoring
- Stay hydrated
